herstory of 149 jefferson st

the beginning

Moving cross country with three felines and an adorable co-pilot driving my car, went well until we got here and couldn't close yet, due to hold ups on the close of my escrow in Fresno. Oy. So for three weeks the 20 ft moving truck (containing at least 82 percent art/supplies) sat in my Aunt's driveway, while the felines were trapped in my Grandma's bedroom, with a litter box and, my bed.

When we were finally able to close and I was able to be in the home for more than five minutes, I was able to finally see what I had purchased. You see, I bought it sight unseen. Granted a family member was able to come check it out but jeez, visions are different or can be! But I was happy with it and then when I ceased the chronic pinching of self, and things were where I wanted, I was able to start relaxing and enjoying this special place. It provided me over the last few years, a place for grounding in nature and art as I continued on my path!

I got involved with the village ArtWalk almost immediately upon arrival to town. 149 Jefferson is just .20 miles into the center of town where you will find a four art galleries and in the surrounding area are wonderful artisans in wood, metal, etc. The Narrow's, our local pub and a few other new businesses including a great handmade soap shop are located right in town. Just a half mile away, Waldoboro now has its own craft brewery. Also within walking distance, a pharmacy, grocery, post office, library and they are working on restoring the Waldo Theater.

The winters do provide a great time to create. Started, stopped and started a few new series as I still continue to experiment. Made new friends and still enjoying being here.

But alas!, my body did not really like the change after living in Fresno, CA for 30 years and then freezing my arse off for three winters. I love the winters, don't get me wrong. So magical to look at from this angle for sure. I've spent many hours on the porch in 5 degree weather just to watch the snow fall. That leads me to this winter when I took a vacation with a friend. I loved it! Winter and it was 85 degrees. Tropical and no I will not tell you any more. Wait for it!

So yes, I decided to sell now, before the real spring hits and everything looks so springy and green. And yes, I have to do spring cleaning, but it's still snowing. I gave up bed making for peace of mind. The cellar is still weatherized and I'm still wearing turtlenecks. I will keep updating photos!
